Brewing The Sassy Cat & The Lazy Dog
Is this instant coffee?
No. Instant coffee is dissolved powder. These discs contain real ground coffee. The pour over disc works like a filter: water passes through it at constant pace and you lift it out when brewing is done.
Do I need a filter, machine or grinder?
Not for The Sassy Cat or The Lazy Dog drip brew discs. Just hot water and a cup.
How do I brew a pour over disc, and how much water should I use?
Peel the protective lid off the coffee disc, place it on your cup and pour 220 ml of hot water at 90–93°C. Brew for 2–3 minutes, then remove the disc and enjoy. For water just off the boil, wait about thirty seconds after the kettle clicks.
How strong is The Lazy Dog?
Each disc contains 11 g of coffee, brewed with 220 ml of water. If you like it lighter, use a little more water.
Can I add milk or make a latte?
Both The Sassy Cat and The Lazy Dog can be enjoyed black or with milk. To make The Lazy Dog with milk, brew with 150 ml of water instead of 220 ml, then top with hot milk. Its dark chocolate and almond notes hold up well against dairy, oat or almond milk.
Can I brew one disc twice?
You can, but the second cup will be weak. One disc, one cup, is how it is built.
Is The Sassy Cat sweet? Does it contain sugar?
It tastes of sweet vanilla, but there is no sugar in it. That flavour comes from real Madagascar vanilla.
How long do the discs keep?
Each disc is nitrogen flushed and individually sealed. Opening one sachet does not open the others. Check the best-before date on the box.
Can I take the Pour Over discs travelling?
Yes. The box fits in a laptop bag and each disc is individually sealed. For the office, hotel room or a trip away, all you need to brew is hot water and a cup.

Which grind should I choose for The Morning Fix or The Espresso Heat?
Select the grind option for your brewing method. Whole beans require grinding before brewing.
Which grind works with the brewer in The Espresso Heat Set?
Choose French Press grind for the included ATLAS Travel French Press, or whole beans if you have a grinder.
Will every Homura cup look exactly the same?
No. The reactive fire glaze changes under the heat of the kiln, so each glaze pattern is unique. Homura is a 240 ml high-fired porcelain cup with a matched saucer.

When will my order arrive?
Orders are typically processed within 2–3 business days after payment confirmation. Standard delivery is estimated at 3–5 business days after dispatch to most major cities; remote locations may take longer. Estimates are not guaranteed.

Returns & support
What are the conditions for a return?
